Question:

Skimboard! suggestion?

So I am 155ish at 5"8 and I am choosing my first skimboard. Should I get the large Zap Wedge? Obviously I need to get comfortable with sand skimming and such but I want to hit some waves as well. I was looking at the Zed Insight 99 initially but nobody I know has heard of it. Can anyone help me out with a few opinions and suggestions?

I longboard almost everyday and snowboard a little in the winter so this might help/harm my skimming.

  1. Zap, Victoria are your best two bets for brands. I have a victoria foamie have yet to try it out, but its gonna be amazxing.

  2. I would recommend starting with a wooden board, since they are cheaper than foamies and it doesn't matter if they get scratched up sand-skimming, but if you're REALLY confident in picking up skimming and waveriding quickly then hey... go for the wedge. haha
