I would like to ask if a Marine Epoxy or a Glazing Putty is good in waterproofing a wooden skimboard.. I'm a beginner and I'm making a wooden skimboard.

And if you have other good suggestions, kindly tell to me..

Thanks...

  1. I don't know, but the term "skimboard" makes me think you might know the answers to some questions I currently have posted.  Could you look at the questions and see?  Under water sports it is "Can some water sports enthusiasts answer these questions?"

I will really appreciate it.  Thank you.  I would have emailed you, but couldn't.

  2. Right off I hope you are using marine plywood because any other  type will delaminate no matter how hard you try.

If you wish to keep the unit light I suggest that you treat the cut and shaped edges with ordinary PVC glue. You have to apply quite a few coats. Then finish  with  3 coats brush applied polyurethane clear.

You may use a light glass cloth  5 oz and polyester  and surface coat resins to protect the bottom and Top. Or you can use a good budget polyurethane floor coating.

I have used all the above at some stage and all work well.
