besides a shiny coat, are there any other benefits of feeding your horse a skin and coat supplement?

the one i am looking at contains both omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, and the main sources of fat are flax and rice bran (smartshine by smartpak)

  1. Flax and rice bran are really good for your horse. Yes, they will give it a shiny coat, but they can also contribute to their overall health. Omega 3, fatty acids, all good stuff :)

  2. Skin and coat supplements helps growth of the coat aswel as glossiness. The colour of the coat is deepened and looks more rich and healthy. They also help to stop the skin becoming dry and dandruffty.

  3. Go into   counrtysupply.com  then click into the supplement link, then there are so many that you can read up about, they tell you all the good stuff it helps and what it has in it. I order all my horse supplements from here.

    Good luck

  4. Good question.  Easy answer.  Just stay away from the discount feed stuff you get at the locol discount stores. I use M.F.A. Easykeeper, isnt sold at discount stores.  My neighbors swear on their cheap feed they buy, but always comment on how shiney my horses are, still they buy discount feed, and feed twice as much as I do, so whats that tell ya!  A high end feed has all the supplements you need, unless a vet tells you different.  remember, when it comes to wormer, fly spray, feed e.t.c.  you get what  you pay for!
