Skin help! Questions?

I want to wash my face, but I don't know if I should use Irish Spring soap. My mom says it will dry out my skin but I don't know. Can I? I'm still going to buy a cleanser this weekend but until then I need to know what should I do?

I have combination skin, I think. It is mostly oily around the T-zone, but my cheeks are usually normal (and I guess I have normal/large pores), so it could also be oily or normal skin type. So basically, how do I take care of my skin? lol I know the basic "drink lots of water and watch your diet" but anything extra? or cheap products that actually work, I am on a very small budget lol. And if you name some, could you tell me what skin type you have, so I know and don't buy it if it's not for me?

Oh, and I tend to get zits in the T-zone, but mostly on my nose and hairline.

And, you don't have to answer THIS, but what are some ways I can get rid of pimples & pimple scars (preferably overnight lol)? Like, just things you can find around your house, like toothpaste. I tried toothpaste, but there is still a red spot there, like a non-bumpy or just a little bumpy pimple. Is that normal?

Basically that's it! (sorry it's SOOOO long!!! I broke it into sections so you wouldn't get bored, but you probably still did lol)

THANK YOU!

Have a super nice day!!! : D

  1. proactiv works really well.

  2. In general, don't use soap on your face. It's too strong. Use a facial cleanser, like Neutragena or Olay, and a moisturizer, too. There are ones for combination/oily skin, and that's what you need. Make sure that you use a sunscreen, too. I, too, have a t-zone which is oily, and I use combination/oily skin products. I may try a product named Alpha Hydroxy soon, as I just went to their website, and liked what I read. Also, it is pretty reasonable for skincare.

Products with salicylic acid work great in 24-48 hrs., and occasionally overnight, if you catch the zit when it first appears. Keep your face clean by cleansing morning and night, and try out moisturizers until you find one which isn't too much for your T-zone. You can always add more cream moisturizer on your cheeks and lower chin, if they are still a little dry after your regular moisturizer.

Also, a toner can keep the oil from accumulating on your face (and reduce the appearance of large pores on nose, chin, and cheeks near the nose). There are tons of those available. In the summer, when it is so hot, a toner is a must, in addition to the cleanser, imo. Cleanser, toner, then moisturizer. Exfoliation doesn't have to be daily, but you can find those as masks or regular products. Just use as often as you need them. You may need more in the winter, because of the indoor heat, and the wind.

Just customize your products to your needs, and have fun!

  3. i have combination skin kinda like how you described your skin - oily in the t-zone and i use neutrogena oil free acne wash its not too harsh on my skin and works pretty well and if you wanted to spend more more you could try the new neutrogena id its designed for specifically for individuals different skin types but it cost 40 for the entire set but it seems like it would really effective in treating ur individual problems.... o and also for the pimple i'd try tre tea oil its really good in drying up those stubborn pimples and its only 6 dollars for a bottle which usually lasts for at least a month....good luck!

  4. That clearasil 3 day treatment stuff.. I honestly forget the name I just know it says 3 days on the bottle (my stepmom buys it i just use it) but i swear by the scrub. its a little harsh but it works FAST even over night you'll see an improvement.. Ive used probably half the products on the market and this is the only thing that works for me. I wont use anything else anymore. I just cant remember if its made by clearasil or clean and clear.. but it says 3 days on there and the bottle is like purple blue and white and sorta metalicy I hope this helps cause I cant get into the bathroom atm to go check so yea..

  5. try "Biore ice cleanser"

    it's only like 5 dollars

    it's for normal/oily skin

    and normal/large pores

    and always moistureize after washing

because if your skin lacks moisture

then your pores will produce more

    causeing big pores and blackheads

i have exactly the same skin as you

    from what you've said

    =]

but keep in mind that certain products dont always work for certain people

    u should try it though

    it worked for me!
