Question:

Skin recovery after smoking?

I have quit smoking, although I am on the nicotine patch. Will my skin start to recover even though I have the patch on? Are there any organic skin treatments I can use to help my skin restore itself? I had a baby 10 months ago, and I know the smoking has prolonged the stretch mark/loose skin healing process. I'm not up for chemicals or surgery. Any suggestions?

  1. 10 months later might have been too long to start...but I used cocao butter on my skin after having chicken pox when i was 18 years old....i can only see a few pox marks even though i had bumps EVERYWHERE!!

  2. You can use Aloe Vera externally to help soothe your skin, but if you're looking at all your skin, I would say to add some Aloe to your bath water and have a nice long soak once a week or so (depending on how often you like taking baths). Of course, that would take a rather long time to fix damage and it wouldn't easily cover your face (which is where the damage would show the most).

Also, there are some supplements you could take internally to help the health of your skin and it's rejuvenation. Some of the most popular ones are Biotin, Silica (commonly from Horsetail), Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, L-Cysteine, Collagen, and most antioxidants.

    Good luck!
