Skinny+attractive=hatred?

Question

As a "Skinny" person myself, I have encountered hate from others...strangers and even at times, my own friends. Being told I am "Skinny" in a very demeaning way, or being the center of ridicule by a bunch because of this has pushed me to be just as blunt. For instance, a very heavy woman made fun of my weight in a negative way, and I responded by saying she was too fat but in a positive way. My question is, for those who are so called "Skinny" and are attractive to the opposite s*x, do you relate to this? and how? For those who are on the hateful side...why do you condone this behaviour? It seems that calling someone fat is a total outrage, and see a correlation with race also...its accepted to make fun or joke about whites, but such a sin to do the same onto blacks. Thanks in advance to all who take the time to seriously answer this question.

I watch this show on during the day called "The View" & Joy on that show always calls people skinny bitchs. I think she thinks they are so happy they don't mind being called names. You should write to that show & tell her how you feel & that she is starting a sterotype. She wouldn't want to hurt anyone but she has no clue how hurtful it is...You really opened my eyes. I would never say anything I have always been small but I think when I was kid I was skinny & I am afraid to get that way not knowing why...No one else could get away with these names so sharing this info. is helpful.

im black and im a heavier guy! Alot of fat people arejust jelious of wathey havent achieved or inherited! i havent met a person yet that cant change there weight if there heavy! If someone makes fun of a fat black person they automatically assume that it racism and now ur evil! black folks need to get off that way of thinking! yall know what im talking about, the helpless the world owes me for 300 years of slavery! while it was wrong the world( white people) dont owe you a d**n thing! skinny people be skinny and beauitful and fun dont worry bout big people cuz in the end who wants to be who! that not to say that there arnt attractive big people out there!

I don't think they are trying to be mean. Skinny is seen as a good thing most of the time. They may say stupid things, but I don't think it's right for you to call them fat. Just ignore it. If you're pretty and skinny, and people find you attractive, how hard could your social life be?

well i dont get hatred from people because i'm skinny. my firends they just go "you're so skinny!" as if they're complimenting me but i dont take it as hatred. i just respond by smiling or saying "yeah i know". well for those people who has something against your size, ignore them because it's the same thing as being racist, which is worthless of doing.

People just look for reasons to be mean.  

For instance, I have some friends that are very well-endowed in the chest department, and those girls take all kinds of insults for it.  They've been accused of sleeping around and stealing boyfriends, but I know them, and they're the sweetest people in the world.

For the most part, it's jealousy, I think.  But on another level, it's first-strike separation.  People are afraid of being cut off by and from the good-looking people, so they throw insults first to avoid it.  Similarly, people are afraid of being grouped in with people that are overweight or that are "ugly," so they insult them to put up the "I'm not like you and I don't want to be like you" barrier.

I usually fall into the overweight category, and I take a lot of insults for it.  I don't condone the name-calling, but I at least think I understand it.

I get you  i am not a skinny skinny person but of fair size..i use to be quite small it seems bigger woman who have low self esteem try to bring you down and its up to YOU not to let them..so if they say your to skinny say yep ...and give them and and what look...or think of anything that doesn't feed them and you dont have eto lower to their level...like"well that was nice..turns it on them.....be proud of who you are no matter what size....thank god for different looks and sizes
