Skip Bayless says Floyd Mayweather is scared of Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
Boxing analyst Skip Bayless has agreed with the chief of Golden Boy Promotions, Bob Arum, who claimed the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, is scared of Manny Pacquiao’s right
hand and that is the reason he does not fight him.
Bayless said he completely agrees with Arum’s point of view. He stated Mayweather does not want to fight Pacquiao because the Filipino star has now become a two-fisted fighter and he is equally good with his right hand as he is with his left.
Bayless also believes Pacquiao, who is a winner of 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, will stop Mayweather within the first four rounds, if the two ever meet in the ring.
“I completely concur, the right hand is why Floyd doesn't want any part of Pacquiao,” Bayless told ESPN’s First Take.
“The right hand is why Pretty Boy Floyd would get cut for the first time in his career. And the right hand is why I think Floyd, as Bob Arum suggests, would be dropped in this fight by the 3rd and 4th round,” said Bayless. “It will be over quickly, painly
and humiliatingly for one Floyd Mayweather.”
The undefeated American legend, Mayweather, has never been defeated in the ring as of yet and he holds an incredible record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. He is best known for his defensive
style and is considered by many as one of the most difficult boxers to hit in the ring.
However, Bayless reckons had Floyd been that much perfect with his defence he would have had taken on Manny by now.
“If Floyd will be the defensive technician and boxing savant that Mayweather's fans have said over the years, he wouldn't be afraid of anyone,” said Bayless.
Pacquiao versus Mayweather is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport currently, as it will decide who the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is.
