Skipping Jury Duty?

Question

What will happen if I skip Jury duty in the State of Massachusetts?

If any warants issued fo skipping jury duty will they stay on your criminal record?

Also if a warrant will the police come knock down my front door?

What type of Warrant is it if any?

How will I be arrested?

I know this is a civic responsibility! But I have to waste my day my money because of some bad person i don't think so!!

What will happen?

How old do you have to be tho serve on a jury?

What are some excuses?

You mean some person ACCUSED of a crime.

If you were falsely accused, wouldn't YOU want a chence to clear yourself?

Anyway, if you got a summons, just call.

I've been summoned a gabunch of times, but have never had to report; the most I've had to do is call twice -- just to find out I wasn't needed.

Read the whole notification. It explains all the legitimate excuses; you could also ask for a postponement, and pick your time.

I believe if you're voting age, you're eligible for jury duty.

Get a grip; grown up; make the call, and hear that you're not needed.

If you ARE needed, go.

If you aren't willing to be the kingpin of the trial system, move to North Korea; they have NO justice there. You'd love it.

I've been researching this for a friend ..someone who doesn't have any record ..the worst is 3 days in jail or up to a $1000 fine.

Sometimes they might send someone telling you to do it or reschedule.

You wont lose your job because of jury duty, anyone who fires you because of that is in deep **** because that's illegal in any state.

The best thing to do is call the county or state and tell them you accidentally missed it and you need to reschedule.

You must be 18 years old to be a juror, and meet all of the screening requirements

I would much rather be judged by a jury of my peers (intellectual normal people with a sense of common sense) than a panel of booger eaters with nothing better to do . Think about it , it could be you on trial.
