When I was 3 I skipped preschool and went directly to kindergarten because the teacher said I was naturally gifted when it came to math and english. Do you think my preschool teacher did the right thin for doing that if not why.

  1. Little late now isn't it? When I was young, there was no such thing as preschool,  my children didn't go either, and we are all fine.

  2. it depends on the child.. if child is very smart and talented then we can skip one or two grade... it is a risk for child if he can't mange the burden of next grade.

  3. I don't know do you think it was the right thing?

Sometimes the right thing is different for different children, I do think that you should have been included in the decision to skip tho.

  4. 3 sounds really young to start kindergarten but if you did well in school I guess it was OK.  If you didn't do so well then I'd say she made a mistake.

  5. If you're doing good now and I think you're really doing great there's no point of pondering if your preschool teacher did the right thing. I think your teacher was right otherwise you've been bored in that class because you're smarter than the rest of the class. My son never attended preschool. He went straight to K5. That time he's much, much better than other kids who went to preschool. By the way, he's in the 5th grade and his reading level is of 10th grade level. He's on the Principal list (straight A's) since 2nd grade.

  6. I was held back two years because I started two years early AND I didn't work well with others.

    Nothing has changed.

    It doesn't matter.
