Skit on indian tribes?

i'm doing a skit on indian tribe (the kuki ttribe of manipur) in the 18th century before india's independence. the scene is that the tribes are asking the britishers salary for making them work as coolies. how will the tribes address the britishers. i was thinking sumthing like "saahib" can u suggest any other word through which they can address the britishers.

actually "saahib" IS the correct word if the skit is gonna be in hindi, and i dont know manipuri language so i cant suggest other words!!
