Question:

Skull shape determines intellegence?

I have a brachycephalic skull (broad skull) that gives me a rounder face. I have heard that being dolichocephalic(long skull) is more attractive and they are also more intelligent. Is this true? Most Eastern Europeans are broader skulled, does this make them uglier and dumber than the Norther Europeans?

  1. This is an old throwback to pseudoscience that people used to prove white people were superior.  There is NO scientific evidence that skull shape or size (or even brain size) correlates with intelligence.

  2. You should read about Eugenics on Wikipedia. It is very controversial. But I don't think the type of skull is related to intelligence. It is more how you use the brain you have.

And beauty is n the eye of the beholder!   : )

  3. It was once thought the bumps on your head were indicators of intelligence and personality. It didn't work. That's the same with brachycephalic and dolichocephalic skulls.

Want to bet the person that pushed the idea had a dolichocephalic skull?

If skull shape was any indicator of intelligence, why would we need SATs and tests?

  4. I don't think so, I read that brain size actually doesn't affect intelligence in humans unless its drastic... So head shape shouldn't either.
