Sky HD question??

I have a HD tv, but not sky HD. I was wondering since there are HD channels such as sky sports hd 1 & 2. Can you buy the channel? So you can watch it in high definition? or would you have to buy sky hd? whats the point of havin those channels if you cant buy them ?:S.
