Question:

Sky Talk - Withheld Outgoing From Landline?

This is in regards to my landline.

My service provider is Sky Talk. My line rental is with BT.

Whenever I dial out, my home number comes up as 'withheld' however when I use the BT prefix of 1280, the number shows up. So this led me to the conclusion (with the help of the technical faults department at BT) that the problem lies with Sky providing my service.

I rang Sky and the technical department found this issue very strange as there seems to be no restrictions on my line. They said they would get back to me about it.

My question is, has anyone experienced this problem with Sky Talk before? If so, how did you resolve this? Only serious answers please.

  1. outgoing caller id is usually handled by a third party company.  So the problem may be with neither one. Either way, keep on BT and Sky, someone knows up there.

Ask for a supervisor if you have to, its my expierience that the voice you end up getting on the other end is just a CSR with no real information.
