Sky+ and Surround Sound??

I've got Sky+ Box and a Samsung HT-Q20(25) digital home surround sound system. Can you please tell me which cables i need to buy and how to hook the two together??

  1. Hi,

    all you need is an optical digital cable. connect "optical out"  on back of Sky+ box to "optical in" on back of your HT-Q20. Set your audio input to "auto"on the HT-Q20. When you receive a dolby digital signal from the Sky+ box it should now be automatically decoded. Try it out on the Sky movie channels as many of these are broadcast in 5.1 digital.

  2. You need an optical cable (Toslink) out of the back of the Sky box. I don't know if the Samsung has optical input, but id not you can pick up a Toslink / SPdif converter pretty cheaply. Maplin in the UK RadioShack in the US
