If I put a sky plus downstairs, and my normal sky box upstairs.. would I still get my full package upstairs, without having multi- room?

Although I know that you wouldn`t be able to watch two different channels on them at the same time...;)

  1. Hi db9unleashed

As I understand it, each box has to have a viewing card. If you don't have multi-room only 1 of your viewing cards will be active

We have a single Sky+ box and a video sender box to transmit the channels upstairs. We can even control the Sky+ box from upstairs but obviously whatever channel is on downstairs is the only one we can see upstairs

  2. ask a  question without your bum in the pic because thats just a distraction....lol

  3. i think it has something to do with whether you can connect both of them to one ariel? or phoneline?

  4. You need multi room if you want to have your full package every where.

  5. if you wire it all up so it all connects of the main output of the main sky then your get the full package,

What you need to do is get a Sat converter so you can have the 2 Cables going in to the back of the main Sky Box and then have 2 other Cables running from the converter up to your room with the other box.............. You could always get one of them Wireless boxes , but they tend to me c**p , as things like the Mircowave will mess the picture up. ...........................

What im saying is , You just use the main Box to change the Channels and just use Extension Cable to connect to the TV up stairs ,    You cant use both boxes , As you would have to get Multiroom to do that...........................

  6. Are you gonna be awake long enough to watch it?

I cheated and used some connection thingy and feeded it thru the wall and can watch it in another room......do i get points for most un informative answer?

  7. Assuming that you have a dual LNB (ie one wire from the dish to your new box and one wire from the dish to your old box, then you will be able to get full subscription on the sky plus box, but only watch free-to-air channels on your old box.
