Sky plus wiring in new build?

hi just starting 6 new build houses and have been asked to allow for sky plus in the living room i know the sky will need a bt line and 2 coax cable to run on sky plus and oe coax for normal tv. my question is if i run the 2 cables from the loft down to the point at the tv will sky connect to the cables in the loft? and what graded cable do i need to use. any advice on this or any better ways of doing this will be greatfully recived

  1. Yes, run cables from the loft and be sure to have phone socket adjacent to tv socket too.


  2. sky will not conect to your cable in the loft the main reason is the coax comes directly from the dish outside. if you want to run it from the loft down you will have to take one end from the dish up through the loft and down through the house. dont run the normal tv coax and sky together keep them seperate and keep both away from electricty cables or you will get interferance. any way use satalite screened cable for both tv and sky you can get it from any wholesalers hope this helps.
