Which is a more reliable car? I understand that the skyline will be pricier to fix, and harder to find a place that will actually work on it, but which is a more reliable daily driver?

  1. The 93 is 16 years old. I don't know what year the R32 is, but if it is around the same year, you can't expect great reliability. they both probably have a lot of miles on them.

    I'd go with the supra.

  2. I can speak for the skyline we bought a 1991 R32 a couple of years ago and it was one of the best cars we ever owned.

It was a dream car for me to own since it came out and i didn't want to be let down and i wasn't the car suited our needs as a daily driver,we have two kids which sit on a booster seat so it had to have enough room for them as well as a rear passenger, and it fitted these no problem,trunk/boot wise it was really big infact almost to big.

Realiable we took our R32 on a 2k roadtrip and it never let us down at all and we stop only a couple of times for short naps.

Even my back which i slipped a disc with many years ago never hurt a bit.

pic of wife and our Skyline during our trip at the point of pic where over 1000miles from home.

Parts wise Nissan still stocks parts for the R32 models also, there are many breakers worldwide and for the US owners as the R32 is in Canada legally there are plenty of parts there also.Another thing is the Nissan s13 model shares

most parts which doesn't surprise me as i owned an s13 180sx many years ago and it did feel like a similar car to the R32.

The Supra Mark 4 is a great car a car which we have looked at buying in the past you often see many skyline owners buying the Supra and many supra owners buying a skyline and the same with the Evo's so i won't dish any of them as i have friends with them all.

Overall the car is a great car and the driver truly feels like a driver as the dash feels like your inside a cockpit, driving wise is easy and feels very low to the ground. One thing which lets the Supra down as an daily car to us and many other people is the lack of room it has which is a real shame from Toyota. My friend took my kids and myself to a Japanese tuning car show and my kids where at the time 6 and 7 and as said earlier sit on booster seats the lack of rear room meant that even with their thin little legs and the two front seats really forward they still had to sit crossed legged as they had no rear leg room at all. Also the lack of boot space one flat suitcase and the trunk/boot is full.Parts wise due to the Supra being sold in many countries parts are not a problem to get hold off.

Overall both cars are great and other great cars performance

and handling wise is t*t for tat as both have great engines and offer great performance the skyline comes as a non turbo single cam non turbo twincam single turbo twin turbo 2 door 4 door 2.6L 2.5L and a 2.0L engine.AWD and RWD.

The supra comes as non turbo and a twin turbo setup. RWD

Pic of my skyline atm with friends Supra.
