  1. The guys at Skype have put a lot of trouble into explaining this very clearly on their web site.

And they'v e done a pretty good job of it.

    It really is very clear.

Just what is it that you don't understand?

  2. If you call another computer with Skype there's no worry - computer to computer calls are free.

If you called a landline and didn't get charged then you most likely had free Skype credit.

If neither of the above are true, let me know what you did so i can use Skype and call people for free. I highly doubt that Skype would charge your internet service provider for making those phone calls.

  3. No, but if you had no credit and tried to call a regular phone it wouldnt go thru. it is worth it to buy some Skype credit and make full use of Skype.

  4. Skype-Skype calls are always free between Skype users.

Skype-to-PSTN telephone number calls are charged at SkypeOut rates.

***  Your first 10 minutes to landline is free for testing. ***

After that, you have to give Skype your Credit Card info (or use PayPal) to purchase SkypeOut Credits towards future calls to PSTN phones.

You will never be charged to your home phone bill from Skype.
