The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be topping the overall sales chart yet it seems that the bug infested PlayStation 3 version is lagging behind a certain Call of Duty game.
It is the season to be jolly, at least if the game you spent months developing is in the top ten places in the PlayStation 3 software sales chart. The ongoing battle between The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to rage
on in the United Kingdom.
Below is the PlayStation 3 software weekly sales chart for the week ended, 17th December:
10. GoldenEye: Reloaded: James Bond may not have a movie coming out anytime soon, but the remake of the cult class video game, GoldenEye, is doing rather well for itself as it holds on to the number ten spot for yet another week.
9. Batman: Arkham City: staying in ninth place is the caped crusaders second instalment in the Arkham series by Rocksteady. Certain to be nominated for Game of the Year when the time comes, Arkham City is continuing to do the business in
the charts.
8. Need for Speed: The Run: the only racing game to make the top ten places in the chart, The Run takes the Need for Speed franchise in a new direction. Despite fans complaining that the game is rather on the short side, many agree that
it is fun while it lasts.
7. Saints Row: The Third: to sum this game up as briefly as possible, Saints Row: The Third is the only game where players can attack non-playable characters with d***o bats. No, that is not a typo.
6. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations: Ezio Auditore de Firenze bid the gaming world farewell in this, his third adventure, and he did so in some style. It has been in the top three spots for quite a while yet has started to slip in the charts
more recently.
5. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: Nathan Drake has become an icon in the gaming world and the Uncharted games are the main reason gamers tend to buy PlayStation 3s. However, this week saw the same slide from second place all the way down
to fifth.
4. FIFA 12: it’s the United Kingdom; the game is the best football game out in the market right now, if not the best football game in history. For it to not be in the top five sports would be a surprise.
3. Battlefield 3: making the biggest leap in the charts and jumping up three places into the top three is EA’s modern military first-person shooter Battlefield 3. Hoorah?
2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim moves up one place in to the number spot yet it still cannot topple the giant that is
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
