Skywalker Flame, 4 to 5 betting favourite, wins the 480m Grade A1 Heat at Newcastle on Jan 12

The son of Priceless Rebel out of Princess Molly, Skywalker Flame justified his status as the favourite hound at Newcastle, taking first position in the 480 metre long Grade A1 Heat on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
His starting price was 4 to 5, the highest odds by any contestant in the race. After breaking from the sixth stall, the fawn dog lived up to the expectations of his fans, and covered the distance in 29.02 seconds.

Following his brilliant run, the dog won £118 – the cash prize for the winner.
Although Skywalker Flame eventually secured the top slot, he was given a hard time by Borna Taylon.

The black b***h, the daughter of Premier Fantasy out of Borna Magic, remained touch but unlucky and finished second in 29.03 seconds. Her odds were 6 to 1, beginning the heat from the fifth stall.
Alongside the top duo, Annamore Richy and Rackethall Hanna ran superbly, grabbing third and fourth positions, respectively.
The son of Head Bound out of Gold Lark, Annamore Richy, who finished third on the points table, clocked the area in 29.04 seconds, just 0.01 seconds behind the runner-up.

Trained by S Ray, the white and black dog was given a starting price of 5 to 1.
He was chased by Rackethall Hanna, the daughter of Elite State out of Bit View Sally.

The time difference between Rackethall Hanna and Annamore Richy, was not big.
The fourth positioned female hound crossed the finish line in 29.05 seconds, just a moment after the third-placed dog.

It was a fine attempt by Rackethall Hanna, S Ray’s trainee, whose starting price was just 10 to 1.
The remaining two participants, Elwick Quiz and Ultra Musicman, could not do anything special, taking fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

Elwick Quiz, the daughter of Rumble Impact out of Droopys Azaliea, made it to the post in 29.19 seconds.
She was sent off with odds of 7 to 2 – equal to the winning chances of Ultra Musicman, who appeared as the Back Marker.

The son of Ballymac Maeve out of Wordsandtune, winded the race in 29.65 seconds, after his discharge from the first stall.
It was a real tough competition among the top four hounds. However, luck favoured Skywalker Flame to post his first success of 2012.
