Skywalker Gold heads market for Heat 8 (4 to qualify) at Wimbledon
Despite not being in good form, Skywalker Gold has earned the highest starting price for Heat 8 (4 to qualify), being held at Wimbledon on Friday, April 27, 2012.
According to the program, the 480 metres flat heat will be started at 21:45 GMT. Competing for a cash prize of £110 are: Skywalker Gold, Holloway Road, Castlebride Dan, Brinkleys Flyer, Whata Lovely Job and French Blue.
Skywalker Gold was not impressive in his last appearance. On April 13, the black dog displayed a dismal show, falling fifth in a 300 metres race.
Yet, the bookies are not ready to ignore his chances. T. Soppitt’s trainee recently made a fine solo trip at Newcastle, where he covered an area of 290 metres in just 17.05 seconds.
Among his opponents, Holloway Road is being considered as the strongest contender for the top prize. J. Mullins’ trainee sealed a couple of emphatic wins at Wimbledon last month.
However, he has been struggling with his form since then. After finishing fifth in a 480 metres heat at the end of last month, the black dog improved his work and secured the runner-up place last time out.
Heat 10 (4 to qualify) is likely to be dominated by Tyrur Justin, trained by Charlie Lister. The dashing hound recently completed his hat-trick with a fine performance at this venue.
The spectators saw him outplaying Boxie by a length’s margin on April 07. In his most recent trip, the white and black dog remained unlucky, missing the top spot by a few lengths.
He will show his guts against Burst Of Magic, Tynwald Bolt, Dream Walker, Big Step and Dippy Doo. The officials are due to kick off the proceedings at 22:15 GMT.
It is not going to be an easy trip for Charlie Lister’s trainee, as Burst Of Magic is full of spirit following a fresh success. With four successive wins under his belt, Big Step is raring to go.
Skywalker Gold would easily be able to dominate Heat 8. However, the latter race is going to be a close contest among Tyrur Justin, Burst Of Magic and Big Step.
