Skywalker Gold to dominate the William Hill Sprint Trophy at Nottingham
Leading the line-up for the William Hill Sprint Trophy that will be held at Nottingham over 305 metres flat on Monday, 28th May is Skywalker Gold. The £150 prize money will be contested by Doobys Gone West, Corleones Dondon, Slick Citi, Romeo At Risk and Kilbreedy Way.
The four-year-old rolled into the new season on 14th January at Doncaster over 275 metres and claimed the seasonal debut by timing the track distance in 17.07 seconds.
He led the runner up of the race, Quick Up, by six and a half lengths.
Droopys Kewell’s black son out of b***h, Dianas Ranger, then settled second in the next race. He followed Head Iton Tom on 21st January at Yarmouth over 462 metres who got done racing in 28.25 seconds.
Skywalker Gold’s second seasonal success was in the Gobata Championship Final Round Leg 2 Sprint on 24th February over 275 metres at Doncaster by making the trip to the other end of the wire in 17.00 seconds.
He led the track of six by ¾ of a length as the runner up, Westmead Shaw, timed the track distance in 17.06 seconds. Coming at terms with the third position was Leos Options.
On 3rd March he won the William Hill Standard at Sunderland over 450 metres. Skywalker Gold, the 4/6 favourite of the race, timed the track distance in 26.97 seconds.
He led the runner up, Droopys Aliyah, by two lengths and was soon joined in by Denwill Rocket. He then paired up victories by winning a 275 metres race on 10th March at Doncaster by reaching the other end of the wire in 17.04 seconds.
He led the runner up of the race, Tippy Court, by six lengths.
Even though the trainer, T. Soppitt, made all the effort for the four-year-old to accomplish a hat trick but it could not materialise as Skywalker Gold scored second in the very next race.
The last race that he was able to win was the Williamhill.Com Greyhound Derby – 2nd Round – Heat 9 on 5th May at Wimbledon over 480 metres.
He timed the distance in 28.84 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Shelbourne Abi, by two lengths.
He has the potential to grab the race tonight by putting in all the effort and hard work that he has displayed before.
