Slade Power primed to perform well in Lane Stakes
Slade Power is going to supplement his career’s success ratio by winning the Blue Square Sandy Lane Stakes that will take place at Haydock racecourse on Saturday, June 2. The Class 1 contest will commence at 3:40 (GMT).
The Edward Lynam-trained bay colt owns a terrific track record. Starting his career with a runner-up rank on May 22, 2011, the three-year-old novice runner marvellously broke his maiden on December 2 while being an 11-10 favourite.
The Mrs S. Power-owned maverick sprinter moved on to finish first in the very next outing on April 7, 2012---he was again 6-4 favourite for that race. The brilliant sprinter elegantly finished as a runner-up in his last outing on May 2.
Much to his luck, the talented son of Dutch Art out of Girl Power had been the hot favourite runner in three of his total four starts.
With fifty percent success ratio, the talented colt seems to be quite confident to take on half a dozen rivals including Bogart, Es Que Love, Lethal Force, Roger Sez, Samminder and Fanrouge.
Slade Power is likely to cover the distance of 6 furlongs quickly and smoothly while pursuing the prize money worth £18,714.
However, Es Que Love can dismantle him. The Mark Johnston-trained brown colt has also been a favourite for most of the races of his career that began in May 2011.
With the beginning of 2012, the young runner gained immense confidence. In the month of April, he accomplished two back-to-back triumphs. He moved on to finish 4th in his last outing on May 17.
Now, the son of Clodovil out of Es Que is keen to clinch the title of the Lane Stakes. Hence, there will be a close battle between him and Slade Power.
Lethal Force is also likely to fight hard in the race. The trainee of Clive Cox also started his career in May 2011. The grey colt broke his maiden on April 20, 2012 and proceeded to finish as a runner-up in his last start on May 18.
Thus, the event is going to be thrilling and interesting enough. Let us see who carries the day.
