Slamming Newport-Barbarossa, Audi-Mt. Brilliant accomplish 2010 US Trust Cup
In the crucial final of 2010 US Trust Cup, Audi-Mt. Brilliant successfully defeated Newport-Barbarossa Leather after ardent performance with 13-12 score at Grand Champions Polo Club. The booming hits of Audi-Mt. Brilliant’s strikers made it possible their
way to the success.
The final of the 2010 US Trust Cup was opened with the three handicap goals of Audi-Mt. Brilliant, while Newport-Barbarossa Leather remained scoreless in first chukker of the game. Everyone of Audi’s side was attempted to circumvent the opponent squad. The
duo foursomes combated upward and downward in the ground with powerful shots, impressive hits and tricky dodges. However, no single goal was scored from the field apart from three handicaps of Audi-Mt. Brilliant in the first seven and half minutes of the match.
Sugar Eriskine opened the second chukker of the match with impressive hit and scored first goal of the game while another goal of Marc Ganzi on penalty shot exceeded the score of Audi’s team to 5-0. Hector Galindo and Julio Ezcurra opened the account of
Newport-Barbarossa with back to back goals and reduced the lead to three, 5-2.
Another pair of goals by Galindo on the penalty hit and Goldstein’s classic shot upped the score of Newport Barbarossa Leather to 5-4 in the start of third of chukker. Ganzi took the benefit of penalty shot and marked another goal for Audi’s side, while
his teammate Eriskine also added one goal. On the other side, Galindo scored two hot goals by hitting targeted neck shots from 150 yards towards the poles. First half of the game was concluded with the second goal of Goldstein, which leveled the score at 7-7.
Audi-Mt. Brilliant regained its lead with the third goal of Ganzi in the start of second half of the match while opponent’s Leo Mandelbaum hit two back to back goals on penalty shots, which first levelled the score and then took one goal lead. Bo-Goodman
of Audi-Mt. Brilliant’s foursome marked first goal of the game to level the score at 9-9 and made the match more baffling.
Unfortunately, the horse of Ezcurra fell down; however, both horse and player remained unharmed. Duo to precautionary measures, Excurra replaced with his brother Tommy, who played the remaining game. Audi-Mt. Brilliant’s lead revved it up by two goals with
wonderful goal of Ganzi, who was obtained on penalty shot at the end of chukker.
The lead of Audi’s foursome expanded to three goals with another goal of Eriskine; however, Goldstein and Galindo obtaining two goals reduced the lead to one goal, 12-11 at the end of second last chukker. The last seven and half minutes of the game started
with the narrow lead of Audi’s squad. The herculean battle started in the final chukker of the game as one team wanted to hold the lead and other wanted to level the score. Lucas Lalor of Audi-Mt. Brilliant hit a superb goal to exceed the lead, 13-11 which
was replied by Mandelbaum’s goal in last thirty seconds of the game and cut the lead down to one before the expiry time. However, the golden goal of Leo’s could not save the team from defeat. Audi-Mt. Brilliant won the game by a narrow difference.
Best scorer from Audi-Mt. Brilliant’s foursome was Ganzi with five goals while Erskine marked three hits for the winner side. Goodman and Lalor added one goal each to the Audi’s team. Form the opponent side, Galindo hit five goals while Goldstein and Mandelbaum
marked three goals each. Julio accounted one goal for the losing team.
The race to win the title was completed after the succession of Audi-Mt. Brilliant, which delivered tremendous performance and made it possible to acquire the trophy of 2010 US Trust Cup.
