Hi. I've been trying to trace my ancestors but I'm really stumped. The last names are Nevenglosky and Motika (or Moteka). I've tried all the main geneaology pages but I still can't make concrete conections.

Does anyone know of a site that references slavic ancestory either in general or specifics???

Note: I can speak a little Russian if it is pertinent.

  1. Well do you know where these ancestors come from? Different Slavic groups such as Poles, Russians, Slovaks, etc. tend to devote genealogy and history mainly to themselves.

  2. Nevenglosky sounds like Russian

Motika should be south Slavic. (it acctualy has meaning in my language- a pick, as agriculture tool) there are many family names like that (with meaning of object) where i live

    hope it helps

as for websites i never came across one, but i know that many emigrant web communities offer genealogy services (finding out where you r from and who are your ancestors)
