Sleep issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whenever i really need to sleep, like during the school year etc. i will be up from 6:30 and then when i finally get to bed around 12ish sometimes i just cant fall asleep till like 2 in the morning and its so frustrating when i really need the sleep. and it feels like during the summer and stuff or on weekends im so much more at ease and can just fall asleep without problems. helppppp. sometimes i think too much too and i dont know how to stop it, its like once i get going its too late and im thinking about not thinking so much haha. anyways please give me your thoughts!

  1. you need to stop worrying at night, you should probably make sure that you are very organized so that you wont worry if you forgot if a paper is due or something. Also try to wind yourself done, by like taking an hour before you go to bed and turn off the tv, stop doing homework, get off the computer, and get ready for bed. Then do something you like, like reading a fun book, or i do sudoku. Try not to get yourself thinking about the day at all.   You could try meditation, or playing like a white noise machine if the first couple ideas dont work for you. If nothing seems to be helping, go to your doctor, they can give you an anti-anxiety medication to help you a lot.

  2. During school,you may not be able to get to sleep because of all the stress.

    I recommend to take a relaxing bath before going to bed. Or drinking some warm milk. Even if you go out for a walk,it will get your mind of all your school work and there won't be as much stress. You should have no problem sleeping then.

  3. I deal with exactly the same thing!!  SOme of the others in here will probably want to slap some disorder on you but that's not the case!

    What you have to do is plan out your day extremely well, handling lots of situations and doing school work and then a killer workout program.   Work out till your *** is completely worn out then keep going!! Sounds dumb but wear yourself out big time!!  Constantly working and being prepared.  You'll also probably start achieving a h**l of a lot once you start doing this...I guaruntee that you'll start sleeping well!  Also, try helping people...through volunteer work...makes you feel good..  Work hard, do good, relax at the end of the day and have a good nights sleep!!

    Been there for a long time till I figured this out!!!  Trust me

  4. I've always had the same problem, it's mostly a mental thing. Unfortunately the only thing you can really do is try not to think about it, or get anxious about it. One thing you should NOT do, is take medication to sleep. They can be habit forming and you can get dependent on it, then you will always feel like you can't sleep unless you take the medicine.
