Sleep talking- do sleep talkers say truthful things.?

My Husband recently told me I was talking in my sleep and Said I wanted out of our marriage (true) but then he said I also told someone to be patient I need a while longer and that I loved them (Completely Untrue--I'm not even seeing anyone). He refuses to tell me what all I said-- he just says the things I say are Bad and wrong yet refuses to elaborate. I don't remember any of this. Is it normal for some to sleep talk to not only talk about true things but fabricated events as well? I'm sure this is from the emotional stress in my home right now

  1. I used to sleeptalk too, I was on the couch and my family were sitting around the lounge room talking and I could hear them in my dreams, but they weren't saying what they were really saying. My mother said something like (in my dreams) "She said I could have the photo" and in my dream I was protesting and I sleeptalked and said "No I didn't".

Another time my friend Shikkira was asleep when Me and her were sleeping over my BFF's house, and when she fell asleep we heard her say "Welcome line".

  2. hhmm i think its true because me and my mate are having a sleepover now and this boy is downstairs and they like each other, and we went down and doodled on him and my cousins face, i started saying his name because i thought he was awake and he said something, me and my friend livi laughed and i carried on saying do you like livi do you like livi? and he said yes then i asked him is he was gonna ask her out and he said yes and all day today he was saying that he might ask her out and i think he is and he kissed her .............. trust me its true.

  3. Here are perfect examples of how what you say in your sleep is related to what's on your mind, but not necessarily the truth: http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/

This mild-mannered British man says all manner of things in his sleep, some of them quite offensive, and others downright egotistical. From what his wife (who started the blog) says, this is in direct contrast to his waking behaviour. There was even an instance where he used American slang in his sleep, but did not know what it meant when he was awake.

  4. Yes and no. I have conversations in my sleep but my ex-wife would believe everything I said.  Needless to say I have had a psychologist tell me that everything I say is true when I know somethings I say is not true. I do no date anyone now because of that.  One girl friend actually tried to get me arrested for something I said in my sleep.  True.
