Sleeping Urban upsets You Mind Me in Coral Sprint at Hove
The spectators at Hove came across with a shocking result on Thursday night, when Sleeping Urban surprised You Mind Me in the Coral Sprint.
The 1-3 favourite for the 285 metres heat missed his break and let his rival enjoy the party. Sleeping Urban made the best use of the opportunity and sealed top position by ½ of a length.
The Grade OR meeting started off at 21:06 GMT. As expected, You Mind Me picked up an early pace to put his rivals under pressure. However, he could not deliver what was required to gain a decent lead.
On the other hand, Sleeping Urban was in no mood of making any mistakes. The white dog stretched his advantage considerably to eliminate You Mind Me’s chances. After getting in commanding position, J. Gammon’s never looked behind. He sustained his lead till
the finish, covering the distance in 16.29 seconds.
It would have been an embarrassing outcome for the fans of You Mind Me, who was centre of attention ahead of the race. Earlier in the card, Centurion Dolly sealed an emphatic win in the Coral Ladies Maiden.
The black b***h dominated the proceedings all the way through, not giving her opponents any chance to spoil her party. After breaking out of the fifth trap with the odds of 9 to 2, the P. Young-trained clocked the 515 metres distance in 29.85 seconds.
Murlens Murcia finished second by one and a half lengths. The result was quite embarrassing for the supporters of Parkwest Angel, who was 4-5 favourite.
Coral Ladies saw Spinkys Nod topping the chart by three quarters of a length. The black b***h’s early pace helped her gain a reasonable lead in the beginning. She held her dominance right through the event, making it to the wire in just 29.67 seconds.
Share The Spoils shocked some bookmakers by doing a decent job. The black b***h secured runner-up slot by a couple of lengths.
Scramble clinched victory in the Coral Puppies at Hove. It was an exciting event, as the hounds crossed the wire simultaneously. After stepping out of the blue box, D. Childs’ trainee stopped the clock in 30.05 seconds. She justified her highest staring
price of 4-5, seizing top slot by ¾ of a length.
