Sleeping problems help?

I don't sleep good at night. I go to bed tired and I wake up tired. But about a week ago I went into a "deep sleep" for a few hours and when I woke up I actually felt good. But since then I havent been able to do that. I'm a light sleeper and I dont have insurance. I don't like taking medicine. Please let me know if you have any suggestions

I recently read an interesting and helpful article in some magazine.  The bright light from a computer screen or TV causes your body to release 2 substances that help your body be awake.  So stay away from the TV and Computer for at least one hour before you go to bed.  Reading a book causes release of a substance that makes you sleepy.  So this is the perfect way to end your day.  I would, however, recommend that the book not be horror or science fiction because those make me more awake because I need to find out what happens next :).  Using dimmer light, as able, in the evening or at least in the last hour before you want to be asleep will also prevent the 'wake up' substances from being stimulated.

    A hot bath or shower will raise your body temperature.  In order to sleep a drop in body temperature is needed so stay away from a bedtime shower or bath.  For the same reason, don't exercise for 2 hours before bedtime.

    These have helped me.  I hope they work for you too.

  4. try clearing your mind of complicating thoughts or questions.  when your concentrating on something like that your usually distracted. try playing some soft music it helps you calm your mind down.  i've tried this because i've had sleeping problems also and this helped me hopefully it will help you good luck :)

  5. you could have hypothyroid if you are always feeling tired, because the same thing happened to me. Sometimes it will go away on it's own but most times you will need to take medication for it which is only a pill a day so i don't think it is that expensive.
