Sleeping with your eyes open?

Can you sleep with your eyes wide open?

Your eyes roll back anyway, so if you had no eyelids you'd still fall asleep eventually.

If you have eyelids you'd have a lot of trouble keeping them open without help.

I dont know about wide wide open but  my sister a lot of the time sleeps with her eyes most of the way open.  It kinda freaks me out but I have learn to ignore it.

I've seen people sleep with their eyes half way open. It's bad to have the eyes open during sleep anyway as they need rest just as well as the rest of the body. Also, it can dry out the eye if it remains open. Puzzle by this question ((scratching my head!!))
