Slept in contacts - eye is red!?

i fell asleep with contacts in last night and now my left eye (only) is fairly red in the inner side. i took the contacts out and am now wearing glasses.

i had pink eye twice a few months ago and still have some drops left - should i try these? or use Visine? or just leave it alone?

i have an important event tomorrow and am hoping the redness will go away by then - what do you think?

  1. Its probably just some minor irritation from falling asleep with the contacts on. Use a brand new pair of contacts the day of your event but leave the eye alone for now. The irriation will lessen throughout the day

  2. oh don't worry!I've fallen asleep with my contacts on maaany times and I'm ok.Your eyes are red because they didn't get enough oxygen, the contacts that you use daily can't be kept in your eyes for more than 14 hours I've heard.

Just remember to take them off before you go to sleep and it will be ok =)

  3. It should go away. A little visinein the eye will help reduce the redness... if it gets worse you may have contact overwear which is caused by too much protein build-up in your eye. (This can happen when you sleep in your contacts). Wear your glasses all day and you should be good in the morning.
