Slick Santiago to take away the crown of Caffreys Puppy Classic heats
On August 15th, audiences witnessed the glorious victory of Slick Santiago in the Caffrey's Puppy Classic heats. Slick Santiago was born on 4th October, 2009, to Droopys Scolari and Little Flutter. Since he started racing, Slick Santiago has participated
in many races and won quite a few as well.
Prior to this, Slick Santiago contended in a heat on 08 August, 2011, at the tracks of Nottingham. The dog shot towards the wire at an amazing speed and left behind other competitors, wishing for a win.
The stadium has experienced these unbelievingly fast and smooth beasts unleashed many times earlier.
The race on 8th August, 2011 was held at the track distance of 305m. Slick Santiago ran like a bullet once he was let out of the third trap but only managed giving a normal performance and was not the most enviable greyhound on the tracks that day. He was
able to cover the distance in 18.10 seconds.
Slick Santiago was followed by Boots for Gold, trained by D Ward, in the second place and Skywalker Teddy, trained by T Soppitt, in the third place.
On 15th August, 2011 Slick Santiago won by a pretty remarkable margin; it was just a little more than five lengths. It has been trained by Keithe Allsop, owner and trainer respectively of Tullymurry Act. He is an outstanding trainer and has a widespread
experience.
It is not merely a coincidence that his trained candidates who have been winners at many important occasions and tracks not just once. He still wishes to get hold of a Derby title as well which he has not been able to achieve lately and who knows that the
greyhound who actually wins this title would be the Slick Santiago himself yet again being the source of pride for Keith Allsop.
For the upcoming week's race Slick Santiago needs to be all alert and active for yet again making its mark because the other candidates, Boots for Gold and Skywalker Teddy are strong candidates for the Caffrey's Puppy Classic heats. Boots for Gold has had
six first positions during the year one of which was a very close show with Skywalker Teddy who also has a record that cannot be overlooked. It has managed four first positions in the running year.
The trainers of all the three dogs are upbeat and have their fingers crossed as to which dog will succeed. The chances of Slick Santiago seem to be brighter because he recently won but it should also be considered that he just claimed its fourth track while
the other two have already tasted their fourth before Slick. Only the race will tell.
