Slick Shane and Monleek Sloopy to lock horns in the Molson Coors Sprint Trophy
The 305 metres long Grade OR Molson Coors Sprint Trophy is to be held at Nottingham on 5 March, 2012, and the white and black dog, Monleek Sloopy, is expected to show good back straight speed, and with that he has the ability to pose an obvious danger.
The David Pruhs trained hound is the son of Brett Lee, out of mare Razldazl Pearl is coming off a second place finish at Nottingham on 27 February, 2012, in a Grade OR 305 metres long race, as he missed the victory by ¾ of a length.
Prior to the second place finish he won at Peterborough, the Grade A1 420 metres long race, and the hound is famous for his clean, straight runs and could pose a threat to the rest of the field this evening.
The hound, who is supposed to challenge Monleek Sloopy on his terms, is the rampant black dog, Slick Shane. The K. Allsop trained hound has been racing at Nottingham since 20 February, and has turned in one fourth place finish.
He is recently exiting a victory in the Grade OR 305 metres long race by a small margin of ¾ of a length at Nottingham. The son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Crossfield Tex is expected to lead at first turn and stay one step ahead thereafter.
Monleek Sloopy will be sent at 13 to 8, and Slick Shane with the most favourable odds of 2 to 1, after he turned in some head turning performances recently.
Loaded Dice, yet to break his maiden could surprise a few if he is in his best form. The black dog posted a victory at Romford when running in the 475 metres long Grade OR race, defeating Young Vicarious by 2 ¼ lengths.
The J. A. White trained hound is exiting a third place finish at Nottingham in a 305 metres long sprint to winner Bradgate Star. The hound has been right up there, and if he gets a clean run he could sweep the sprint.
Gold Finch and Moany Tony are sent at 5 to 1, and the former is expected to do well if she gets an inside crowding which could help her cause, while Moany Tony could finish a strong third, glancing at her past performances in Grade OR races.
All in all Slick Shane is expected to take the sprint, but not without Monleek Sloopy getting in the way, and if he can get past him than it will be an exciting finish to the race, while Gold Finch has a strong chance for a second and Moany Tony to
come in third.
