Slick Shane is likely to dominate proceedings in The Romford Stadium Sprint in England on Friday, March 16, 2012. The 225 metres flat race has a winning cash prize of £175.
A total of six hounds will be seen in action in the Grade OR event, scheduled to start at 20:02 GMT. The names of these runners are: Slick Shane, Blonde Carlos, Riverside Steve, West Way Ranger, Says You Maeve and Pretty Chilly.
The bookmakers did not have to do much thinking before rating Slick Shane as the favourite hound, as he has been delivering some consistent results over the past few months. He has earned a couple of victories in his previous five outings, which suggests
that he is in very good shape at the moment.
K. Allsop’s trained hound finished runner up in his most recent appearance. He was not the favourite for that race, but gave a tough time to his opponents. He is known for his quick starts, which always help him in short distance races. The bettors will
not hesitate over investing money on him.
The black dog is the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Crossfield Tex and was born in May 2008. He has got plenty of experience in this class and will make things difficult for the rest of the participants.
M. Dennis’ trainee, Blonde Carlos, has also been given pretty decent odds for victory by the bookmakers. He was in great rhythm at the start of this year, but seems to have lost some confidence, after his previous outing at Romford.
The brindle dog could only manage a fifth place, as he was slowly out of the blocks. This proved to be too costly, as the race distance to cover was just 225 metres. The second favourite hound will need a much better start than last time in order to challenge
his rivals.
Blonde Carlos is the son of Blonde Jet out of Blonde Diamond and was born in April 2009.
On the other hand, Riverside Steve might prove to be the surprise of the day. R. Pleasants’ trainee can be quite unpredictable and the punters will be interested in placing a few bets on him today.
West Way Ranger, Says You Maeve and Pretty Chilly do not have a good chance of winning, as they lack rhythm at the moment.
