Question:

Slight Lazy Eye- more noticeable when tired- help?

I have a slight lazy eye (my left eye) which I would like to try and alter if possible.

In the day normally it is fine, if someone looked me in the eyes for a while they would notice it. When I get tired, it literally almost shuts itself half way which is obviously very embarrassing and therefore makes me a lot more self-concious.

I am now a teenager and we didnt notice until a couple of years ago the condition. Is there anything I can do to cure this; except from stopping myself getting tired- which is obviously difficult

Many Thanks

  1. This is called a ptosis. Lazy eye is something different, called amblyopia.

It sounds as if your levator muscle is your eye gets tired easily. It could be congenital, or it could be a muscle problem. You should visit an optometrist or ophthalmologist to rule out any muscle disorders.
