Slight abnormality? i was told after brain scan?

,,,that i had slight abnormality,what symptoms could this cause?sadly...in my younger yrs i used a lot of different drugs,ive always thought that i have some problem eg.aspergers,or something like that and also believe my drug/drink abuse was used as a crutch to slow my mind down,,i no longer drink or take any drugs although my psychiatrist prescribed me respiridone(dont take it)just would like to hear what others think

  1. No one can tell you anything without knowing what the abnormality is. It could be a number of things.

Saying you have a slight brain abnormality is like saying your car has a minor engine problem - it signifies a potential issue, but isn't enough to really make any assessment from.  In fact, without knowing the specific imaging method, localization of the abnormality, and nature of the abnormality, it's near impossible to make any sort of educated guess as to what symptoms might exist.  

    It is worth noting that if you're being prescribed respiridone by your psychiatrist, you should go ahead and take it.  While I understand this brain abnormality was reported in a past scan, not taking a medication you're supposed to be may result in false reports of abnormalities in future scans.  Almost all psychiatric medicines have relatively predictable effects on functional imaging scans (fMRI, EEG, etc), and seeing a lack of change in function could be interpreted as an abnormality or an insufficient dosage.
