Question:

Slight static?

I just installed a new Kenwood head unit, and absolutely love it. The problem is, when you switch over to aux. or cd, there's a slight static noise...but the cd playback quality is still outstanding. My only guess would be a bad ground? I've only grounded it to the wiring harness ground, assuming that ground has a solid mechanical connection. Do I need to just go ahead and pigtail in another grounding jumper to the metal chassis? Or, could it be something else entirely different? I appreciate all knowledgable answers, and best answer will be awarded.

Thanks.

  1. buy a ground loop insulator and hook that up and it cancels the static.  I have one and I have never heard static with it
