Sligo Mick set to add another triumph to his podium streak
Sligo Mick has beautifully managed to stay on the podium constantly since September 12, registering three epic triumphs along with three runner-up ranks and some thirds.
After winning the Bags Track Championship – Dogs of November 2, the K. Hutton trained black dog is again geared up for a high-stakes races of the same title. But tonight, the venue and the format will be different.
For the IT race of £200, Sligo Mick has gained the 2-1 favourite tag. Breaking from Trap 5, the two-year-old veteran hound will run confidently over the 450-metre racecourse of Oxford. Remember, the format was IR and the venue was Swindon last time.
Sligo Mick has been a consistent winner since the very outset of the current season. He has proved his capabilities on various venues.
The talented son of Hondo Black out of Dark Lynn fought hard and beat the favourite candidate, Hula Sparkle, by a narrow margin in an A2 race on September 17. He moved ahead to bag the 3-length convincing triumph in the similar sort of contest of 21st.
The brilliant sprinter finished as the runner-up in another A1 outing on October 12. He repeated the same in the Churchdown Ladies Netball Club Stakes on 27th.
Then there came the dog’s IR triumph of November 2. These stats show how skilled Sligo Mick is. It is highly anticipated that he will win this race emphatically provided he manages to contain his only strong rival Primo Apollo.
The C. Stringer trained black dog made a marvellous hat-trick of victories in the month of July. He went on to win Hit Or Bust Stakes by beating the favourite runner, Off The Radar, on September 19.
The dashing dog made another upset on October 3. This time, he beat Active Lark after a rip-roaring spar. That was followed by two more A2 triumphs.
