Slim tires for mountain bike?

im using a kenda koyote 26x1.95, i use my bike to commute to work 18km and i can feel too much drag in my current tires thats why im switching to slim slick tires.

  1. bob a is right. but I'd measure those rims. What you stated is a very wide rim. Simply measure across the rim from side to side. Most all MTB wheels will fit 1.5" wide tires except some DH/free ride type wheels made for very wide tires.


  2. I switch my tires with different rims on my mountain bike for commuting...then if I want to go back to fat tires, it takes no time to switch the rim.  You dont have to get some fancy rim, just one that works...thats my recommendation.

    I think the 1.5 could fit...but not ideal.....i should elaborate in that technically it can fit, but you have to over inflate the tire...i ripped up my tire on a ride and had to use a friends smaller tire....it got me home

  3. Check out the Schwalbe Big Apple.. fast, cushy and low rolling resistance.  Cheaper than swapping wheels.

  4. You can't put on a tire that is smaller then the rim.
