Slimline PS2 Stopped Playing DVD's?

For like 3 years my slim ps2 has played everything perfectly. Now all of a sudden it doesnt play ANY movie DVDs. It still runs games fine though, thats what i dont understand. Any help?

sounds like the laser/lens is screwed up.  Try gettng a can of compressed air and shoot a few shots onto the laser.  What also works is a q-tip with rubbing alcohol on it.  if that doesnt work that means your laser is dead.  The ps2 laser reads different media at different frequencies.  IE the frequency used to read a ps2 game is different from the frequency when reading a dvd.  good luck and i hope it all works out for ya
