Question:

Slip n' Slide?

I went to Wal-Mart and bought a 10 x 25 ft. roll of plastic sheeting.

I will cut it in half and then add the other half to the bottom of the first half.

I will then add a real slip n' slide(16 ft.) at the end of the 2nd sheet of plastic to make the whole thing about 66 ft. total!!

I was wondering how to make the sheets of plastic stay put, because slip n' slides have the stakes that you put in the ground to hold it.

Should I buy like tent stakes and put those in?

Would it work?

And can I buy individual tent stakes?

Thanks if you answer this!!!!

  1. Did this a couple years ago.  Bought the plastic sheeting at Home Depot, cut in half (like you did), and popped on top of a little hill.

I put some floor mats underneath them to keep the start of the slide from moving, and ran 2 hoses to the top.

I used stakes to keep the sides down....but they proved a little hazardous.  They also tore up the side of the plastic (who cares...you're throwing it out anyways afterwards right?)

Overall use stakes sparingly, and concentrate on the top.  Buy  2 packs of 4...try just the 1st pack--if it works then you could just return the 2nd pack.

DON'T ADD SOAP...as inebriated as you guys might become.  It's a quick end to the party.  Get's in your eyes, then no one cares about your slip n slide party anymore.   Cole slaw's always fun though!

RETURN OF THE SLIP N SLIDE!!!!     have fun!

  2. When we used it at camp,

you just need something to weigh it down at the corners (nothing that can hurt anyone),

and we duck taped the sides and it stayed fine.

Use lots of dish washing liquid.

It makes it go really fast!

    :)

  3. yes you can buy individual tent stakes go to an ace hardware i would get the plastic ones
