Slippy Phanter hot favourite for William Hill supporting Racing Post TV Stakes
Slippy Phanter is expected to run away with a convincing victory in the William Hill supporting Racing Post TV Stakes at Newcastle in England on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. The triumphant hound will be given a cash prize of £118.
The Grade A1, 480 metres flat race is scheduled to start at 19:52 GMT and a thrilling battle is expected at the top of the order, as there are a few young and exciting runners lined up for action at Newcastle.
One of those runners is Slippy Phanter, who has been delivering some consistent results over the past few events and it will be difficult for the punters to bet against him today. The bookies also have got immense faith in his abilities, thus they believe
that he will be in contention of a victory today.
The J. Fenwick’s trainee has been under different situations, but he has done well mostly, which is a positive sign. He will be facing a fierce competition from his rivals in the race, but he is known to shine under such circumstances.
Just like most of the other greyhounds, Slippy Phanter also started off his career with a few trial runs, in order to judge whether where he stood in terms of performances. His performances were pretty decent, which meant he was ready for action at the competitive
level.
In his first ever competitive race, the brindle dog was rated as the favourite from the bookmakers. He was up against some decent runners back then, but no one was able to match his speed and he finished on the top of the table comfortably.
Even after a convincing victory, the young hound’s team did not send him at the highest level straight away and he was tested in a few solo runs. Once he showed signs of improvement, he was given a chance of battling in a Grade OR event. This was a big challenge
for him, but he did not disappoint his team and outperformed his opponents comfortably.
Since then, many victories have come to the way of Killahan Phanter’s son out of Ruby Red and his recent form has also been phenomenal. He was won four back to back races and will definitely be after a fifth one today.
