Slomka expressed his delight on the way his side has played all season and the manager is confident that Hannover will return to the competition in the next season. The boss added that Atletico Madrid proved that they were the
stronger side as they played some great football and admitted that the Spanish outfit deserved to progress.
“We have lots of beautiful moments and memories in our minds so we would all be pleased to play in Europe again next season. Over both legs, Madrid deserved to win. They were the more mature side,” he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
The tactician insisted that his side has learnt a lot from the competition this year and is hopeful that the team continues to perform in the same way in the Bundesliga. He admitted that Hannover may benefit from the experience
they have had against some of the best teams in Europe.
Slomka also hailed the performances of his players throughout the season in Europe and admitted that team has given its all and have proven their worth at the highest stage.
“What we can take from this is that we have grown in maturity and the high number of games we have played will help us next season too, and we want to go the same way then too,” he concluded.
Hannover are currently fifth on the Bundesliga standings table with a total of 41 points from the 28 games played thus far. They look set to qualify for the UEFA Europa League next term but can face tough competition from the likes
