Sloooowwwww computer. slow video loading time?

i turned on my computer today and the internet is working really slow. takes much longer than usual to load a page. videos also take a longer time. any suggestions?

1) do you have anti-virus software if so run it and let it go all the way before doing any thing on computer.

2) next run  clean disk  .you should be able to find it here (start ,all programs, accessories , system tools ,clean disk )

3) next run  disk defragmenter it is in same place .

but be ready to let your computer run this stuff for a long time frame 1 to 4 hours

4) open your internet browser at the top of the screen there should be a tab or button that says tools ,click it and then go down until you get to internet options  and click it then  look at screen where you browser history click the delete button ,there should be another screen come up  make should to delete the cookies and temporary internet files and history

5) after you have tried these items restart your computer

if you are still having problem then i would say it is time to start checking hardware parts

Hi Lisa,

Try this trick.

Go to start --> Run --> type cmd

Then type ipconfig/all

At the second or third line from the last, you can see "DNS Servers" IP address.

Now type: ping DNS IP Adress -t

For instance: ping  123.123.1.1 -t

After doing this, you can see lines keep coming in command prompt.

Just minimize the command prompt and start working.

Now your Internet will be fast.  :)

Since you are pinging your DNS server, It'll concentrate towards your net connection...

For running slow there are many causes:

Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

Spyware/Adware

RAM

De-Fragmenting

Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

De-Fragmenting

1. Right click of C Disk.

2. Click properties.

3. Click tools tab.

4. Click "Defragment now".

5. Click Defragment.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

Under steps:

1. right click on the TaskBar.

2. click the Task Manager.

3. click the processes tab.

4. double click the CPU.

5. find if the "System Idle Process" is max.

6. if not right click and click end process.

U CAN FORMAT  UR PUTER  THAT MIGHT GET ALL WORKIN FASTER  BUT U WILL LOOSE EVERYTHING EVEN THE VIRUS

I ran a virus scan

and then rebooted.

That seems to work for me!!
