Sloowwwww 2,000 dollar computer?

Question

I have another computer that is a Mac G5 that is kind of old, it was 1,999 dollars but is slowwww from all the junk on it. If I pay someone to completley Wipe the computer will it go faster? (I do not care if everything EVERY thing gets deleted I want all of it gone, its mostly junk)

You could just defrag the thing and uninstall the programs.

Yes, it should run faster. If you would like to delete everything, I suggest reinstalling the operating system. When it says to partition or erase, or similar, select erase.

Won't help by much, assuming a pristine install of Mac OS either 9 or X is done, all you will experience is slightly faster loading time.

Depends how top-of-line this G5 was (either Swan Danced version or low-end introductory G5) it worth no more than few hundred bucks now not even half a grand.

Yes, the best solution is to wipe out and reformat the hard drive of your MAC, otherwise you have to manually remove the junk programs. Good Luck

no!! just get ubuntu linux from (www.ubuntu.com ) and itll be more than 4 times faster and better-looking, more features...etc!
