Slope to hike the rankings through the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes (Listed Race)
The line-up for the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes (Listed Race) has brought together a mix that comprises of those who have won their career debuts, those who will race their career debut and those who have added a few more races against their names besides the career debut. The five furlong challenge will be raced on Tuesday, 24th July at Tipperary.
The €27,625 prize money event has attracted seven two-year-old runners. There are two candidates among the contestants who have raced in graded company, Slope and Boston Rocker. More precisely, both were part of the line-up of the same graded event.
Acclamation’s two-year-old daughter has three races to her credit until now, two maiden and then a group 3. Throughout the three outings she has failed to claim any of the races.
The two-year-old penetrated into the racing career on 7th May, 2012 in the Alfred Nobel European Breeders Fund Maiden at Curragh over six furlongs. Slope ended second against the favourite winner of the race, Move To Strike, by nine lengths.
The grey filly had jockey, Wayne Lordan onboard, and the two were racing fifth when half way through the distance. The duo made an effort and ended with the second position when there remained 1 ½ more furlongs to go.
The next try of the two-year-old grey filly out of mare, Bandanna, to break her maiden was in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Fillies Maiden on 6th June, 2012 at Fairyhouse over six furlongs. Once again she settled second, but by a highly slight margin of a neck from the winner, Roseraie.
After two tries at clearing the maiden with jockey, Wayne Lordan, Slope held an entry in the Group 3 Grangecon Stud Stakes on 1st July, 2012 at Curragh over six furlongs.
Third attempt of the season had her finishing third in line after the winner, Sendmylovetorose.
Today David Wachman’s under charge will race for a second time with jockey, W. J. Lee. The race today is not only a drop down in the distance but also is a step down from the graded company to listed race for the 6 to 1 entry.
