Hey when you have problems like:

x-y=-2 or -7x+3=2y...

how do you solve these? i know the " y=mx+b" but how do you solve these? Thanks!

  1. If I remember correctly, you basically just try to put those problems that you stated as examples into y=mx+b form;

    such as this:

    -7x+3=2y

    2y=-7x+3

    then you divide everything by 2 since you want the "y" to be alone;

    you'd then get this: y=(-7/2)x+(3/2)

    the "y" is y, the "m" is (-7/2), the "x" is x, and the "b" is (3/2)

  2. to solve this, you need to use elimination or substitution

    have a read through your notes! good luck!
