Sloppy fielding cost England the match: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026 – Cricket News Update

Alastair Cook, England’s One Day International (ODI) skipper, was devastated by the five wicket loss to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 Cricket Association Stadium Mohali, Chandigarh, on Thursday, October
20, 2011.
Cook blames sloppy fielding for the defeat. The 26-year-old rants that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 conceded extra runs because of the sluggishness exhibited by them in the field and it turned out to be the difference between winning and losing.
However, Cook did not pin point any particular individual and was silent on what might have caused this sudden slump in the field.
The 26-year-old said, “It was mistakes in the field that cost us today. Our fielding has been slightly below par on tour, which is very unusual for us. I can't put my finger on why that's happening. It cost us 20-25 runs in field
- and that was probably the difference between the two sides today.”
Cook asserts that England is trying their level best and is fairly confident that his side will get back to their optimum best in field for the remaining games of the series.
“We practice very hard on the fielding and in these last three games we haven't done what we normally do in the field. In all forms of the game we're an outstanding fielding side. You don't lose that in a week. It's frustrating
but I'm sure we'll get back to that standard. That's what we need to do for us to improve as a side,” said Cook.
England was a completely different outfit on their home soil but seemed to lose the venom on this tour. They are down by three games to nil and now it’s only a matter of restoring some pride for the visitors.
The only positive aspect from the Mohali game for Cook and co. is that they are getting closer to defeating the hosts. The Indians were invincible in the first two matches, but at Mohali, the game went down to the wire and England
could have won had it not been for the Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, who showed nerves of steel to steer his side to glory.
Cook admires Dhoni’s match finishing abilities and held that the wicket-keeper batsman has done it time after time.
