Slovak Open 2012: Filip Spoljarec overpowers Tadeas Zdarsky to storm into Men’s Singles main round
Croatia’s impressive shuttler Filip Spoljarec showed a strong performance and secured his berth in Men’s Singles main round after defeating his local rival Tadeas Zdarsky in qualifying round battle at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 on Thursday, September 6,
in Slovakia.
The incredible Croatian shuttler, who proved his elevated craft in all previous matches in the qualifying round, remained on track and outplayed his Slovak opponent in a dominating manner without facing any sort of trouble.
The spirited Filip was in full swing as he showed a superb display of his aggressive skills on court and remained successful in showing exit to his local opponent in straight sets with a huge margin by taking the court time for just 25 minutes.
In the meanwhile, Tadeas failed to play positive and aggressive game as he could not control the pace of rallies. He was not comfortable with the variations of his rival’s game and ultimately knelt down to his rival without proving his class.
The impressive Filip was in tremendous form in opening rallies as he did not show mercy to his opponent and also remained miles ahead on score board.
The Slovak shuttler failed to respond well against the power play of his Croatian rival and remained struggling until the interval.
After the one-minute break, Filip continued putting up stunning show as he did not face any trouble from his opponent and eventually remained successful in taking the opening game with a crushing 21-12 margin on the score board.
In the second set, the local shuttler also showed glimpses of his brilliance by playing at his best speed and remained successful in matching the pace of rallies in the opening half.
On the other hand, the in-form Croatian player remained composed on court and remained slightly ahead until the break.
After the break, Filip stretched his lead on score board by maintaining his focus on court and eventually snatched the second set with dominating 21-16 score on the board.
The incredible Filip outplayed Tadeas in this Men’s Singles contest in straight games with a superb difference of 21-12 and 21-16.
