Slovak Open 2012: Hrystyna Dzhangobekova trounces Monika Szoke in Women’s Singles quarter-final
Ukraine’s emerging player Hrystyna Dzhangobekova stormed into Women’s Singles semi-final after showing a great performance in quarter-final clash when she slaughtered Monika Szoke of Hungary at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 on Saturday, September 8, in Slovakia.
The un-seeded Hrystyna, who remained impressive in her elevated play throughout the tournament, continued her convincing run on court and showed exit to her Hungarian rival by beating her in a dominating manner.
The in-form Hrystyna was remarkable in her speed on court as she played attacking badminton all the way to thrash Monika in straight sets with a humiliating margin without showing any mercy to her.
In the meanwhile, Monika was shocked with the killing treatment she received from her Ukrainian rival as she failed to put up strong show in the match. She was helpless against the powerful and accurate strokes of her opponent and bowed down in straight
games without even showing a strong resistance.
The opening game was absolutely stunning as the impressive Hrystyna played attacking badminton and showed urgency in setting up a tremendous lead at the early stage.
After the one-minute interval, the Ukrainian player continued her slaying run on court as she did not spare any chance to stretch the gap on score board.
The confused Monika tried to life up her level of play but she badly failed against the fireworks of her in-form opponent and remained struggling all the way.
The Ukrainian player, in the meanwhile, remained consistent in her confident play and she wrapped up the first set in an easy fashion by putting up a stunning 21-11 margin on the board.
In the second game, Hrystyna again showed great performance by playing with precision as she managed a huge lead in opening points and maintained it until the end of opening half.
Hrystyna continued putting up impressive show after the mid-game interval and remained successful in snatching the set in a ruthless manner with a staggering 21-10 score on the board.
The passionate Hrystyna easily stamped her mark over Monika at the top-eight stage with a punishing margin of 21-11 and 21-10.
